Just over the border between Kenya and Tanzania, and occupying a special place in the heart of Africa, Kilimanjaro is a special trek for anyone prepared to tackle the Highest Mountain in Africa. At 5896m it is five hundred metres higher than Everest Base Camp.
However, it is surely not the mountain's height which her finest feature. One of a chain of Volcanoes, Kilimanjaro possesses a special geology, and a stunning topography, as a single freestanding peak, composed of the three massifs of Shira, Mawenzi, and the main event and highest - Kibo.
