Enjoy 2 fantastic days of walking over the beautiful and wild Yorkshire Dales. Some of the country’s most awesome limestone scenery. We'll pass imposing escarpments, amazing limestone pavements and wide open vistas punctuated by the classic Three Yorkshire Peaks—Pen Y Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough which may form part of our route on this event.

Each day will consist of 5 or 6 hours of walking covering approximately 12 miles. Day 1 highlight will be climbing one of the famous Yorkshire 3 peaks, and an extended day's trekking taking in one or two of these giants. Day 2 will be walking through the Gordale Scar and Malham Cove area —slightly more relaxed, but arguably even more spectacular than our first day… all in all two days of memorable walking and not forgetting the all important evening entertainment in one of Yorkshire’s Countryside Inns taking in the finest in Yorkshire Ale!

Safety Information

By nature all activities contain an element of risk.Your leader will be first aid qualified and will carry the appropriate safety kit for the activity, such as mountain safety shelters, walking rope and from time to time mobile radios. Safety equipment carried will be appropriate to trip. The leader's primary role is to ensure your safety, but it is your responsibility to listen to their guidance and instructions.

Weather

Yorkshire’s northern position means it is generally much cooler (and sometimes wetter!) than the south of England. Rapid and extreme changes in weather are quite normal in the hills. Be prepared—the weather could give you exposure or heat Stroke—both are possibilities! At this time of year the weather could go either way from warm temperatures to freezing cold – so be ready for anything – make sure you pack according to the list! Remember that layers are the key, allowing you to adjust your level of warmth more easily. We will almost certainly experience some rain during the weekend, so make sure you have suitable waterproof gear—both jacket and trousers.
