Richard is a passionate and active outdoors professional. His wealth of experience ranges from cycling across the Tibetan Plateau, to swimming the English Channel as part of a relay team, rowing the straits of Gibraltar, as well as Rock Climbing and Caving. Richard set up AC in 2003, ... Richard is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, a qualified International Mountain Leader, and Climbing Instructor and has cycled in over 39 countries around the world. Currently in the midst of a mid life return to Triathlon and seriously enjoying swimming... variety is, after all, the spice of life :-)
Nadine - is a director at Adventure Cafe, and was a key part of The Human Power Round the World Expedition in 1999 - 2001 cycling through Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia... Nadine has recently succumbed to the delights of Strava, and enjoys open water swimming, cycling, and has been known to venture underground, exploring the Mendip Cave Systems. You can speak to her about the 3 Peaks, trekking in the UK and overseas, and International Cycling. You can also ask her about caving, canoeing and climbing.
Alan - is Adventure Cafe's Cycling Events Manager - with a range of experience as an Outdoors Education graduate, including getting into injury defying 'big air' situations on his mountain bike. Alan has led on trips as diverse as Lichtenstein to London, Pilgrimage to Paris on foot, Cycling Bilbao to Malaga, our Mallorca Round the island and 24 hour London to Paris. He is approaching his summer ML assessment, and of course, now has a van to take him wherever his adventures take him!
Alex - Alex is Adventure Cafe's Mountain Events Manager, and specialises firstly in running our mountain and walking events. Both a keen climber, and with a wealth of travel, events and adventure experience, as well as being a Canoe Coach, he can help you on a range of different event types, especially on multi activity. Recent challenges - Picos Mountains, National 3 Peaks, Canoe the Thames, and his baptism of fire - Jeff's March for Prostate Cancer UK and Jeff Stelling.
Andrew - is Adventure Cafe's most widely travelled cycle leader! With somewhere in the region of 40 countries under his belt, and with crossings of the Australian Outback, Iran and Indonesia under his belt, he has more cycling experience in the bank than most. Ask him about sailing to West Timor if you want a good yarn... or trekking across Polar Ice Caps!
Stephen - is our knowledge in the Peaks and Yorkshire. A mountain leader, climber, keen caver, and all round outdoors font of knowledge, he can bring a smile to even the toughest situation with his dry Sheffield humour. Veteran of more 3 Peaks than he can count, but also our Tuscany leader, and often found in the Lakes, Yokshire Dales and Snowdonia, you'll be in safe hands withe Stephen in the mountains.
Will - has been leading on events regularly over the last 5 years, and has travelled extensively across Europe to help challengers in distress. Calmer than a millpond, and uflappable in the mostr trying of circumstances, Will is just who you need, when your wheels are falling off! He is a keen cyclist, open water swimmer, and rock climber. Will is a qualified Mountain Bike Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor, and has a few special tricks up his sleeve!
Steve - is based in Snowdonia, and an active Climber and Mountaineer, and one of our regular leaders on challenges aorund the British Mountains. Whatever the weather, wherever you may be, Steve will always be there with an encouraging word and a reassuring smile - a firm favourite amongst our challengers.
Paul - is probably the most knowledgable cycling leader you will ever chance upon. He was there in the year clunk, for the beginnings of Mountain Biking, when he raced to a professional level around the world. He has worked in bicycle design and manufacture, as well as getting involved in designing Mountain Bike Courses. He has worked with Adventure Cafe for several years on our cycling events, from France to Greece and Turkey, and most places between!
Si- is one of our highly experienced mountain and cycle events leaders. As well as being a regular 3 Peaks Leader, Si is also a qualified Rock Climbing Instructor, and Canoe Coach. Recently equipped with Road Cycling upgrade chip, Si is now a fully fledged Cycle Events Leader! With over 20 3 Peaks Challenges in the bag, ask for Si on your 3 Peaks... he has the experience you need!
Cliff - certainly walks the talk when it comes to being a challenge leader. From Running Marathons, to epic superfast Welsh 1000s runs, and world travel. He is most reputed for his Channel Swimming (twice!), and his empathetic manner on challenges. Involved in our multi activity challenges, our cycling events, and wherever we can bring him in, he is an integral part of our team! He knows what it feels like to be digging deep and running on empty... he always has an emegency joke ready for you!
Rob - is an exceptionally experienced Adventure Leader. With a depth of knowledge in mountaineering, climbing, paddling, windsurfing, and cycling. But best of all, he is full of beans, and more then willing to share his time with challengers beginning into the outdoors. He lives, works, and plays on the Sea Cliffs of Cornwall.
