Bike Adventure

Are you looking to brush up on your mountain biking skills? Are you a beginner wanting to give MTB a go? Are you just visiting and need a guide for the local area? Why not join us for a Mountain Bike Experience Day in some of the south wests best locations!

Coaching Courses

Half Day- 9-1pm A quick introduction followed by a specific coaching session to improve key components i.e. braking, pedal position, body position, jumping.

Full day- 9-4pm including lunch- A more rounded approach, focusing on elements of riding as the day goes on. A great chance to see some progression as we tackle sections of trail before and after coaching.

Fun Days Out

Just looking for some guidance on where to ride? Stag do ride? Birthday Party? 10-4pm We’ll show you the best of your chosen location, organize hilarious bike-based challenges or even organize birthday races!

The Locations

Haldon Forest- The perfect location for a range of abilities. From the well groomed trails of the trail-centre (ideal for beginners) to the exciting jumps of “café side”

Woodbury Common- A natural playground for some fantastic intermediate riding; a mix of fast open tank tracks, sandy basins and tight rooty single track, this is a hidden gem of the south west!

The Quantocks- The mecca for riding in the South West, from the wide open expanses over the top, to the incredible flowing brooks via the hardcore downhill runs of Triscombevalley; the Quantocks hide some of the best riding in the country.

Rowberrow Warren- a stones throw from Bristol on the edge of the mendips, Rowberrowhosts some incredible natural trails, with steep clay and roots a plenty, this is one of our most challenging locations.

Bristol- Using Ashton Court, Leigh Woods and 50 Acre woods, this is one of the most versatile locations in the southwest. Plenty of well-groomed flowing trails in Ashton court; some challenging descents in the off-piste of Leigh woods and rocky single track of 50 acre woods means everyone will find something to enjoy and be challenged by.

What is a Level 2.5 Cycling Challenge Like?

For this type of challenge - you can expect either distance (up to 80km), or altitude gain - around 5-600m. But not both! If you climb, then the distance will be less, if you cover the distance, then the altitude gain will be little. Typically road conditions will be good - although there are exceptions to this. If you encounter rough road conditions (or it is a mountain bike challenge), then the distance / altitude will be reduced. These events would suit someone of good all round fitness, who takes exercise regularly - without neccessarily being of high specific cycling fitness.


How Fit Do I need to be to join a Level 2.5 ‘Bike Ride’?

You must be active and with moderate fitness level. You should be taking regular exercise, consisting of regular bike rides and possibly other sports (swimming / football etc.) You should be comfortable in undertaking long country rides of up to 6 hours or 60 km in the lowland English countryside. Your training rides will encounter a few reasonable length hills.


Medical Issues

Please note, it is extremely important for this physical challenge that you are in good health. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, please consider carefully whether you should be joining the challenge. Please ensure you fill in the booking form accurately and honestly, this is important. In the case of serious conditions (epilepsy, diabetes, heart conditions, recent illness or operations), please discuss the challenge with your GP. Please also ensure you notify us of any allergies or similar.

It requires stamina and good aerobic fitness - but good willpower will also come in handy! Failure to disclose medical conditions is a serious omission - that could have serious repercussions on any of our challenges.

1 Outer Fully Waterproof Jacket (gore-tex, e-vent) - comfortable to cycle in
1 Pair Extra Eight Long Tights (in poor conditions)

Snacks for the day (dried fruits, nuts, flapjacks, cereal bars etc)


Safety Information


Our team are MIAS certified with over 50 collective years of experience riding the local areas. We are passionate about getting people out on the bike, sharing our favorite locations with fellow riders and generally everything bikes!

There will be a bike check at the start of each day to ensure they are safe; along with a briefing to ensure safe cycling practices. We will adjust the route in order to suit the abilities of the riders.




The weather is obviously dependent upon the time of year - but typically from April to September when we run these rides, you can expect reasonable weather. If we prepare for all conditions then we may be pleasantly surprised! You should prepare for both the possibility of hot and cold weather - as it can be fairly unpredictable.


Notes on Cycling Events

This is our standard range of Cycling Challenges in the UK, Europe and further afield. However, we offer completely tailormade itineraries to your specification. Call us to discuss! Please note that for overseas point to point cycling challenges we can transport soft cases for bike transport - but not hard cases, due to space limitations on board our support vehicles. On all our cycling events, please pack sensibly and bring a reasonably sized soft holdall type bag. To participate in an overseas Adventure Cafe challenge - you must carry Travel Insurance (to be for the activity you are participating in, and to include repatriation to the UK). Please also note that you should have a good level of cycling experience and be competent to handle your bike. We ride on roads shared with other vehicles - and you need to be able to deal with this safely.
